The reason it took eight months is because Beachbody is famously fastidious and detailed when it comes to new products. This product in particular caused a few issues in that they are using a very rare type of vegan protein that is made of sprouted grain brown rice.
According to CEO Carl Daikeler, one issue they came up against was getting the protein powder through customs.
"Joe customs agent is sitting there saying, 'It says it's protein, but I'm not lettin' it go anywhere till I'm sure it's not cocaine,'" he said at the Super Saturday coach event in Dallas on Saturday.
Tropical Shakeology is as "bio-available" as possible, which means it is as close to raw or whole food as it gets.
If what I've heard from other coaches who got to sample the Tropical flavor is true, this will taste so good that it may usurp the greenberry flavor in our household.
